hi, I’m Aisleigh - an expressive landscape artist and colourist.
Cornwall is my home and my happy place

Cornwall is a landscape that has healed me more than I can say, especially during times when anxiety has been a big part of my life. Spending time in nature, painting expressively, and surrounding myself with colour and creativity has genuinely helped me find calm, balance and joy, and this sits at the heart of my work.

From a young age, I’ve always been drawn to making things with my hands. Before focusing fully on painting, I worked as a chocolatier, and that experience still feeds directly into my art practice. Working with chocolate taught me the joy of tactile, manipulative materials - layering, scraping, splattering, textures, experimenting with form and colour. Paint feels the same way to me: a material that can be shaped, layered, and explored in countless ways, inviting play, intuition, and experimentation.

To me, art is a visceral experience. I embrace the messiness of experimentation and the freedom of hands-on expression, allowing the process to guide the painting rather than forcing a fixed outcome.

Colour plays a central role in my work and is closely linked to emotion. As a colourist, I use colour intuitively, experimenting with balance and contrast to create different moods and energy - from calm and stillness to warmth and gentle uplift. Through expressive mark making and the use of mixed mediaI aim to capture the essence and energy of a place.

Many of my days are spent painting and sketching en plein air. These spontaneous studies, along with reference photography, form the starting point for larger mixed-media paintings developed back in the studio.
My aim is simple:
to capture the essence of Cornwall, so you can enjoy that breath of fresh air every time you look at it.

Inspired by the Cornish landscape, my mission is to share the power of art, nature, and colour to help others, just as it has helped me. I aim to create expressive work that brings warmth and joy into your home and captures that uplifting feeling of being outside in nature - a deep, steady breath you didn’t realise you needed.
